Tomato Kasundi

Tomato kasundi is a Bengali relish that I’ve adapted slightly. Fresh new tomatoes, lots of ginger and nigella seeds make a delicious warm, spicy and versatile chutney.

Not only is this perfect for meaty dishes – sausages, burgers, chicken skewers for example – it’s also gorgeous with cheese, or stirred into curry sauce or potato salad. Dollop onto baked potatoes or mix with plain yoghourt for a dip with a difference.
